Arrest Made After Fatal Stabbing in Chicago’s Englewood Neighborhood

Chicago police have arrested a man after a woman was found fatally stabbed in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. This incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. in the 7300 block of South Emerald Avenue.

The victim was discovered on the ground with a stab wound to the neck. She was transported to UChicago Medicine, where she was pronounced dead.

Police conducted a search of the area and discovered a man on a nearby porch. He was holding a sharp object and had a stab wound to his right arm. The man was also taken to UChicago Medicine and is in critical condition.

A weapon was found at the scene, leading to the man’s arrest. Detectives are continuing their investigation.
