Saturday in Knoxville, Tennessee, witnessed a series of unforgettable moments. President Donald Trump attended the event where the No. 1 ranked team was in town. Holly Rowe and Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian had their much-anticipated first interview since the abrupt end following Texas’s victory over Ohio State. Adding to the excitement, Johnny Knoxville appeared as ESPN College Gameday’s celebrity guest picker.
Knoxville was dressed in a full Tennessee Volunteers football uniform and made some outrageous remarks reminiscent of his stunts on the MTV show “Jackass.” Before the game between the Tennessee Volunteers and Texas Longhorns at Neyland Stadium, Knoxville’s presence added a unique flair to the event.
“I’m so sure about this game, that if Missouri loses, I will punish myself by listening to Pat McAfee’s new album on repeat until Halloween,” Knoxville said while choosing the winner between Missouri and Mississippi State, drawing laughter from Pat McAfee himself who responded with a hearty laugh.
During the Georgia vs. Oklahoma pick, Knoxville compared the teams to medical conditions with a whimsical analogy. “You know, I’m from Knoxville, so this is like rooting for the gout versus the syphilis. I’m going with the gout. I’ll take Georgia,” he stated, leaving College GameDay analysts Kirk Herbstreit and Pat McAfee in disbelief.
When selecting between LSU and Texas A&M, Knoxville took the opportunity to jab at LSU head coach Lane Kiffin. “I don’t know how anyone can root for Lane “Left Out in the Parking Lot” Kiffin. He is to college football what toe fungus is to flip flops. I’m going with A&M,” he declared.
After discussing Tennessee’s defensive challenges and critiquing Texas’s offense, Knoxville made his pick for the Texas vs. Tennessee game. “After the game today, Tennessee will remain the real UT, and Texas will remain the real UTI,” he quipped, causing Rece Davis and Desmond Howard to react in disbelief after his series of bold statements.
President Trump, alongside Sen. Bill Hagerty and Sen. Marsha Blackburn, also made an appearance during the game between the No. 1 Longhorns and the No. 14 Volunteers. Trump, known for attending numerous college football games, watched the showdown at Neyland Stadium.
Johnny Knoxville’s antics didn’t stop on the set, as he humorously attempted to bribe a referee with a $20 bill during a pregame interview. His unique, PG-13-rated humor provided a memorable experience for fans and analysts alike.
