The attorney representing Michael P. Desronvil, the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, has addressed claims concerning his client’s decision-making process. Speaking with Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany, attorney Edward Paltzik emphasized that Desronvil had unwavering certainty about his stance throughout the trial.
In a forthcoming interview segment for “Fox & Friends,” McEnany inquires about whether Desronvil experienced any reasonable doubt after the jury foreperson sent a note to the judge. The note accused Desronvil of declining to adhere to the law regarding reasonable doubt. Paltzik responded, “Michael had zero doubt.”
According to Paltzik, Desronvil had substantial evidence supporting his position. McEnany followed up by acknowledging the abundance of evidence referenced by Desronvil’s attorney.
Desronvil served as the sole dissenter after seven days of jury deliberations in the trial concerning Lindsay Clancy. Eleven jurors were set to declare Clancy not criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children, while Desronvil insisted on a conviction. This disagreement led Judge William Sullivan to declare a mistrial on September 4.
Clancy admitted to the deaths of her children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan—in January 2023 at their Duxbury, Massachusetts home. Her defense attributed her actions to postpartum psychosis, claiming she was not criminally responsible. However, prosecutors contended that Clancy was aware of her actions and premeditated the killings.
Desronvil stated that both physical evidence and witness accounts indicated Clancy’s awareness of her deeds. Prosecutors have yet to announce whether a retrial will occur. Clancy is expected to return to court on September 29.
The complete interview with attorney Edward Paltzik will air on “Fox & Friends” on Monday.
