Former Dallas Cowboys Legend Randy White Endorses Ken Paxton in U.S. Senate Race

Dallas Cowboys legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer Randy White has publicly endorsed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for the U.S. Senate. In an exclusive interview with OutKick, White praised Paxton’s bold approach, saying, “Ken Paxton will get in there and get things done. He’s not afraid.” White emphasized Paxton’s commitment to stating the truth without seeking popularity.

White’s endorsement is based on their personal relationship and collaboration on child safety and opioid crisis initiatives. White admired Paxton’s support for the National Child Identification Program, which aids parents in preserving their children’s identifying information. Paxton has supported federal funding for this initiative, where White has been a Hall of Fame ambassador.

“He is a big supporter of the Child ID program, which is something I’m a big supporter of — helping kids,” White noted.

White’s advocacy for drug-awareness was also fueled by personal tragedy. After losing his son-in-law to an accidental opioid overdose, White joined Paxton in 2024 in a public service announcement to raise awareness about fentanyl-laced drugs.

White contrasted Paxton with his opponent, James Talarico. White was firm in his belief that Talarico’s views are not aligned with his own. Referring to policies on transgender participation in sports, White expressed concern about Talarico’s stance, labeling him as “too woke.” He noted that Talarico’s shifting comments on issues made him wary, stating, “I think that’s a sign that we can’t trust him.”

Talarico has voiced opposition to blanket statewide bans on transgender athletes, advocating for local decision-making. Despite this, White stated, “We need somebody like Ken Paxton who is going to stick to his guns.”

Paxton, after receiving President Donald Trump’s endorsement, overtook longtime Sen. John Cornyn in a primary, highlighting Trump’s influence in the Republican Party. The general election shows a close race, with recent polls indicating Talarico slightly leading Paxton.

White expressed firm support for Trump, attributing recent economic and international strategies to the former President. He remarked on the current state of gas prices and the handling of conflicts with Iran as part of Trump’s broader strategy to secure the nation’s future.
