All Elite Wrestling (AEW) is known for creating unique matches that captivate fans. Some notable ones include Stadium Stampede, Anarchy in the Arena, Blood and Guts, and Casino Gauntlets. During a recent event, “Collision,” AEW revealed a new match type to debut at WrestleDream.
Introducing Clockwork Carnage
The new match, Clockwork Carnage, will feature eight wrestlers. A wrestler must successfully navigate two stages to claim victory.
According to AEW, the match begins with two randomly selected wrestlers. Every three minutes, another wrestler joins the match. Wrestlers are eliminated by pinfall or submission until all eight participants have entered. Once the eighth wrestler joins, the match enters a 15-minute scoring period. During this time, each pinfall or submission counts as a fall. The wrestler with the most falls after 15 minutes wins the match.
Title on the Line
Will Ospreay will defend the AEW World Championship in the Clockwork Carnage match. Ospreay currently holds the title after defeating Kenny Omega at the All In event. Before WrestleDream, he must defend the championship against Kazuchika Okada at Grand Slam France.
Key Contenders
In addition to Ospreay and Okada, Jack Perry and Samoa Joe will also compete for a spot in the match. Joe returned at All Out after a short break.
Event Details
WrestleDream will take place on October 17 at the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.
