Hurricane Isaias is gaining strength and is moving quickly toward the Florida Panhandle. On Thursday night, the storm intensified, reaching wind speeds of 110 mph. Early Friday, it continued on this trajectory, classified as a high-end Category 2 hurricane.
The hurricane is projected to escalate to Category 3 status by Friday afternoon. This would involve wind speeds reaching approximately 120 mph. Once it hits this level, it poses a significant risk to the Gulf Coast region.
Mike Howard is taking precautions in anticipation of Hurricane Isaias. On Thursday, he boarded up the Perdido Key Sports Bar in Perdido Key, Florida, as a safeguarding measure against the storm’s impending impact.
Local authorities are urging residents in the affected areas to prepare and stay informed as the situation develops.
