Suspect Arrested After Fatal Stabbing in Chicago
A suspect was apprehended Thursday night following the fatal stabbing of a 48-year-old woman during a confrontation at a residence in Chicago Lawn, according to the Chicago police.
At approximately 10:10 p.m., the woman engaged in an argument with a male suspect. The disagreement escalated into a physical altercation. During this, the suspect produced a weapon and attacked the victim before escaping the location, as reported by the police.
The victim sustained a chest wound and was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. She was declared deceased upon arrival.
The suspect was located and detained near the 3400 block of West 56th Place. Authorities discovered a weapon inside the residence. Officials indicated that the incident appears to have a domestic aspect. Investigations continue as detectives work on the case, and charges are currently pending.
