The Baltimore Ravens made significant roster changes on Tuesday, suggesting rookie wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane will soon return. The team released wide receiver Chris Moore from the active roster and dropped Xavier Guillory from the practice squad.
Lane sustained a fractured wrist during his debut in Week 1. He is now eligible to return from injured reserve this week. The plan is for Moore to move to the practice squad, making room for Lane on the Ravens’ 53-man roster.
Baltimore’s head coach, Jesse Minter, mentioned the possibility of Lane playing in Sunday’s Week 6 match against the Cleveland Browns. Minter expressed optimism about Lane’s readiness, saying, “Ja’Kobi’s done a really good job. When you’re on IR, how much can you do physically to be ready to play that first week back? He’s in a real good place from a conditioning standpoint. We’ll see how that shakes out on Wednesday.”
Lane impressed with his skills during training camp, catching the eye of quarterback Lamar Jackson. As a third-round draft pick, Lane is expected to become a key player in the Ravens’ offense upon his return.
The game against the Browns is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
