Brandi Glanville is taking a significant step in addressing her ongoing health issues by opting for surgery. In her podcast, Brandi Glanville Unfiltered, the 53-year-old reality star discussed the scheduled “exploratory surgery” set for Friday.
“Dr. Carlo Honrado is performing the procedure,” she said. “He will conduct an exploratory surgery to cleanse beneath my skin. He is targeting two specific areas, which might be fungal balls or something that moves and feels alive.” After dealing with this issue for four years, Glanville expressed mixed emotions, feeling “super excited” yet “scared to death.” This marks her first facial surgery, and she has heard that such procedures are “more intensive than a facelift.”
“I just want my health back. I want my life back,” she expressed.
Despite her apprehensions, Glanville remains hopeful, trusting Dr. Honrado, who “comes highly recommended.” She is willing to pay the $5,000 cost, optimistic that the surgery might finally resolve the issue that began in her face and has since spread to her neck and spine.
Previously, Glanville believed she contracted a parasite during a 2023 visit to Morocco. This led to facial paralysis and an initial diagnosis of stress-induced angioedema. In recent developments, she shared diagnoses including ESBL Klebsiella, Enterobacter with biofilm, Valley fever, Demodex dermatitis, and mononucleosis. Her treatment involves daily IV therapies, costing between $3,300 and $6,000 monthly.
Glanville participated in the current season of Special Forces to manage financial strains from medical expenses. “The medical system here is broken,” she lamented. “I’ve spent my savings and even emptied my 401(k) on medical bills.” Despite having insurance, she encountered significant financial challenges.
Joining the show also served as a personal challenge. “I needed to prove to myself that I could do it again,” Glanville explained.
