Jon Lovitz decided to look forward rather than reflect on old news after Crystal Hefner’s remarks. Crystal, widow of Hugh Hefner, labeled Lovitz as the Playboy Mansion’s ‘No. 1 customer’ and accused him of being ‘one of the biggest pervs’ in Hollywood during an appearance on the ‘Lisa Guerrero Unleashed’ podcast.
The ‘Rat Race’ star expressed pride in his achievements when seen leaving a restaurant in Los Angeles. Lovitz took the claims with humor, stating, “Any time someone says I’m No. 1, it’s a compliment.” He spoke fondly of Hugh Hefner, calling him “one of the nicest, most generous people I’ve ever met.”
Hugh Hefner was one of the nicest, most generous people I’ve ever met, and all of his friends know it. That’s all I have to say about that.
Crystal had criticized the ‘Saturday Night Live’ alum for allegedly being a ‘lurker’ at the mansion, known for its lavish gatherings. She detailed, “He would be up there all the time. His eyes would go front to back looking at all the women that walked through the door at the party.” Additionally, she mentioned an incident involving Lovitz’s dog, claiming it caused a mess during the parties.
Crystal began her relationship with Hefner at 21. They announced their engagement in 2010, but briefly called off the wedding in 2011. They reconciled and married in 2012, staying together until Hugh Hefner’s death in 2017 at age 91.
On her show ‘After the Mansion,’ Crystal also mentioned other celebrities like Jack Nicholson, noting his frequent visits to the Playboy Mansion. She described, “They used to call it Jack Nicholson’s drive-thru at one point because he would drive up, grab some food or whatever else he could get there and leave.” Nicholson’s daughter Lorraine once noted her own time spent at the mansion exceeded her father’s.
Crystal shared that fame was significant to Hefner, who treated celebrities very well. She mentioned figures such as Bill Maher and Berry Gordy, along with others like Buzz Aldrin and the original Catwoman making appearances.
He taught me love. He taught me kindness. He gave me life. He really did.
Following Hefner’s passing, Crystal expressed gratitude for the life they shared. She credited him for opening her world to opportunities and experiences she believed she wouldn’t have encountered otherwise.
