Country musician John Rich has expressed interest in performing at the upcoming Freedom 250 celebration. This comes after several artists pulled out of the event.
Support from Tim Burchett
Representative Tim Burchett has publicly urged President Donald Trump to involve Rich in the musical program. In a video message to Trump, Burchett praised Rich’s patriotic music and suggested that he lead the event.
Burchett also mentioned Kid Rock and Lee Greenwood as ideal performers for the celebrations. In response, Rich tweeted, indicating his enthusiasm to participate.
Performer Withdrawals at the Freedom 250
According to Newsweek, the Freedom 250 event, part of Trump’s executive order, has seen multiple artists withdraw recently. Scheduled to be a part of the “Great American State Fair,” the celebrations are set to take place at the National Mall in Washington, DC.
This 16-day event will feature musical performances and installations celebrating the 250th anniversary of the United States.
John Rich’s Online Response
Following Burchett’s comments, Rich reposted an appeal on social media for Trump to get in touch. He suggested he could quickly organize a group of patriotic musicians to perform.
Rich endorsed the message, indicating his willingness to help organize the event.
Trump’s Response to the Situation
Due to uncertainties in the lineup, Trump hinted that he might headline a rally in Washington, DC. He criticized some artists for backing out and called them “highly paid, Third Rate ‘Artists.’”
Trump also proposed the idea of being the main attraction at the event, referring to himself as “the Number One Attraction anywhere in the World.”
