Nita Strauss Welcomes First Child with Josh Villalta

Guitarist Nita Strauss, well-known for performing with Alice Cooper, has entered motherhood for the first time. She and her husband, musician and manager Josh Villalta, welcomed their son, Maxwell James Villalta, on May 28. The couple recently shared this joyful news openly.

The announcement came through an interview with People magazine. In addition, the couple shared pictures of their newborn on social media. Speaking with the publication, Nita expressed the blend of exhaustion and joy they are experiencing as new parents, saying, “We’re in the full on newborn trenches: exhausted, running on fumes and figuring new parenthood out as we go, and it’s still been the most fulfilling and incredible time of our lives.” She adds, “Even after only a few days of motherhood, it’s already the best thing I’ve ever done.”

The choice of their son’s name has a special significance. Josh explained, “Whatever he does in his life, we hope he does it to the max!” Maxwell’s middle name, James, honors Nita’s father, the musician James Strauss.

Nita reflected on the experience of giving birth as “the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” culminating in an overwhelming moment of love. “I’ve always heard people say ‘You don’t know true love until they put your baby on your chest for the first time,’ but I never fully understood it until it happened to me!” she shared. “It was as if the rest of the world melted away and we were in a vortex bringing a new life into this world.”

Nita is excited about the future phases of motherhood. “I’m excited for every phase of this new chapter, from right now as we’re learning to care for a newborn to bringing our son along for the ride on tour when the time comes!” she expressed enthusiasm for managing parenthood along with her professional life. “It’s going to be amazing, chaotic, and exciting, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”

While Nita is on maternity leave, Anna Cara, a 22-year-old guitarist, is filling her role on tour with Alice Cooper. As someone who has interviewed Strauss many times, she is known for her delightful personality and will undoubtedly thrive in her new role as a mother.
