Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders expressed excitement about attending the UFC fight at the White House scheduled for June 14, marking America’s 250th anniversary. ‘I’ve never been to the White House,’ Crosby remarked, citing his interest in history and the significance of this event. ‘We live in the greatest country in the world and it should be celebrated.’
For Crosby, a successful NFL player, this celebration highlights the freedoms and opportunities he treasures as an American. He stated, ‘You have an opportunity every day to chase your passion. Everyone comes from different backgrounds, but in this country, you have a choice every day to chase what you love.’
Crosby also shared his admiration for Justin Gaethje, one of the fighters. ‘I think everyone knows how much I love Justin Gaethje,’ Crosby noted, adding that he considers Gaethje a friend and an exceptional athlete.
Dana White, a familiar figure to Crosby, agreed to host the fight at the White House after a suggestion from Donald Trump during a live UFC match. ‘Dana White is like family to me,’ Crosby said, praising White’s ability to organize major events.
Discussing his personal experiences with Donald Trump, Crosby mentioned, ‘I’ve met Trump a couple times, and he’s been incredible to me.’ He looks forward to attending the White House event.
Potential Olympic Involvement
Crosby is open to representing the U.S. in flag football during its Olympic debut at the 2028 Los Angeles Games. When asked, Crosby responded, ‘I think it’d be incredible.’ Despite having Balkan roots, he emphasized his connection to the U.S., stating, ‘Everyone knows my heart’s here. This is the country I’ve been raised in.’
He joked about recruiting Raiders minority owner Tom Brady for the Olympic team. ‘I don’t think he would do that,’ Crosby laughed, but acknowledged the strong lineup of quarterbacks available.
Working with Fernando Mendoza
Crosby expressed confidence in quarterback Fernando Mendoza, a newcomer to the NFL. ‘He’s a young guy and he’s coming off an incredible college career,’ Crosby said, acknowledging the transition to professional football. Mendoza’s eagerness to learn has impressed Crosby.
‘There’s no taking it easy,’ Crosby said about training. He aims to push Mendoza to improve. Crosby advised patience for allowing Mendoza to establish his own identity: ‘People just need to allow Fernando to be Fernando.’
Influence of Tom Brady
Crosby spoke about the privilege of playing for a team with NFL legend Tom Brady as a minority owner. ‘Tom has had one of the greatest careers, if not the greatest career, of anybody,’ Crosby said, highlighting Brady’s role as a valuable resource despite not being involved daily.
Though Crosby faced Brady only once during his career, he appreciated the experience. ‘I wish we could have had a couple more swings at it,’ he commented.
Partnership with SAXX Underwear
Crosby’s interview with Fox News Digital coincided with his partnership with SAXX Underwear. The brand’s name resonated with Crosby due to his career focus on sacking quarterbacks. ‘The double X was a bonus, too,’ he joked.
He praised the product for its utility in daily life, though he noted it is not yet NFL certified. ‘I wear it during workouts, I wear it around the house, I wear it everywhere I go,’ Crosby shared.
