In a recent discussion, President Trump emphasized the potential for Americans to gain financially from the success of artificial intelligence companies. Speaking from the Oval Office, he announced plans to convene with leading A.I. executives, aiming to explore how these companies might give back to the public.

President Trump explained that sharing in the A.I. sector’s prosperity could significantly benefit citizens. He proposed a meeting with the top 12 to 15 industry executives to discuss how companies could contribute to public wealth, suggesting that such a move would bring substantial financial gain to ordinary Americans.

Alongside this, Senator Bernie Sanders recently introduced a proposal urging a one-time 50 percent tax on A.I. businesses. Sanders argued that since A.I. advancements utilize resources generated by the collective intelligence of Americans — such as songs, computer code, and research — the resulting wealth should be shared broadly.

While Silicon Valley anticipates a new wave of prosperity driven by A.I., concerns exist about its potential to displace jobs. This effect could impact various roles, from software programmers to accounting staff, raising fears of significant economic disruption alongside tech innovations.
