Alfonso’s Victory in Wisconsin and Reaction to Carville’s Warning

Michael Alfonso, a Wisconsin congressional candidate, shared his views on ‘Fox & Friends First’ about recent primary results and their impact on the midterm elections. He responded to Democratic strategist James Carville’s caution against far-left progressives like Hasan Piker. Alfonso highlighted that amid inflation and economic concerns, conservative policies appeal to many Americans.

Alfonso, related to Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy, secured the Republican nomination in Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District. Endorsed by former President Donald Trump, he surpassed a competitive field of candidates. Trump praised Alfonso as a ‘MAGA Warrior’ committed to bolstering the economy, reducing taxes, promoting U.S. manufacturing, and securing the border.

Currently, the 7th District seat is held by Rep. Tom Tiffany, who entered the Wisconsin governor’s race. Tiffany was first elected in a 2020 special election after Duffy’s resignation due to family health concerns. The district is a Republican stronghold, with Trump winning 60% of its votes in the 2024 presidential election.

Alfonso will compete against Fred Clark, the Democratic primary winner. Clark, a former Wisconsin state assemblyman, envisions a ‘new rural majority’ in the region, focusing on community-based politics rather than traditional partisan divides.

Clark’s campaign emphasizes representation and close ties with the constituents, aiming to redefine congressional leadership.
