All Incumbents Seek Reelection in Virginia’s U.S. House Districts

In Virginia’s U.S. House elections this year, all current officeholders are vying to retain their seats. The elections are taking place under previously established district maps.

On Tuesday, voters in Virginia are selecting nominees for various House districts. These districts are based on the political boundaries used in the previous election cycle. This consistency in districting comes after the Supreme Court of Virginia struck down a voter-approved statewide referendum in April. The referendum aimed to redraw districts in a way that would have benefitted the Democratic Party.

“The court’s decision maintains the existing district lines for this year’s election,” said a political analyst.

As a result, the political landscape remains unchanged from two years ago. Incumbents in these districts continue their campaigns under the same conditions they faced in the last election.
