The world of boxing is preparing to bid farewell to one of its legends, Amanda Serrano. The world featherweight champion will have her ‘Last Walk’ on January 9, facing Skye Falzon in Puerto Rico. This marks a significant milestone for the boxing community and Serrano herself.
Throughout her career, Serrano has been a pivotal figure in women’s boxing. Her journey began during a time when women’s boxing was struggling for recognition. From small theater shows, she progressed to headlining major events like Madison Square Garden, reaching a wide audience worldwide. Her husband, Jordan Maldonado, has supported her through this journey, and together, they’ve opened doors for future generations of female fighters.

Serrano expressed that ending her career in her home country, in front of her loyal fans, holds great significance for her. She hopes that people from all corners, whether from Puerto Rico or afar, share this memorable night with her.
Her collaboration with Jake Paul and MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian has been instrumental in advancing women’s boxing. They fought for respect, equal pay, and opportunities that were traditionally reserved for male boxers. Serrano has vowed to continue advocating for the next generation even after retiring.

Both Paul and Bidarian have labeled Serrano as the ‘MOAT,’ the Most Of All Time, due to her achievements, audience reach, and influence in the sport. They reminisce about how Serrano, being MVP’s first signee, became the driving force behind a vision to uplift female fighters on global platforms. Her success has reshaped women’s boxing to be a prominent part of major events.
The forthcoming ‘Last Walk’ is set to be a celebration of Serrano’s illustrious career. DAZN has played a significant role in promoting women’s boxing, and January 9 will be an event that honors Serrano’s contributions to the sport.
Serrano’s acclaim soared when her match against Katie Taylor was a co-main event during a Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson bout in November 2024. Despite losing to Taylor in all three matches by decision, two of which were main events at Madison Square Garden, Serrano’s reputation continued to grow.

Currently, Serrano stands with a record of 50 wins, 4 losses, and 1 draw. She has won each of her last three bouts since facing Taylor in 2025. Her upcoming match will be her sixth professional fight in Puerto Rico and the second at the Coliseo.
