Barry Manilow postponed his concert in Kentucky shortly before its scheduled start. The show was rescheduled just 45 minutes prior to the performance due to unpredictable reasons.
Manilow, who received a lung cancer diagnosis last year, shared the news on social media. He didn’t offer further details about the rescheduling.
While some criticized the timing as disrespectful, many fans supported the singer. Messages of encouragement included sentiments to prioritize his well-being.
BARRY MANILOW’S CANCER UPDATE
The entertainer, aged 82, had early-stage lung cancer discovered in December. Doctors found a cancerous spot on his left lung following a bronchitis episode. Manilow considered it fortunate that his cancer was detected early.
He announced that after completing his Christmas concerts, he would undergo surgery. The doctors believed the cancer had not spread. His treatment excluded chemotherapy and radiation.
Earlier in the year, Manilow delayed more concert dates following medical advice. His surgeon advised that his lungs weren’t yet ready for a lengthy performance. Manilow admitted his body wasn’t prepared despite his desires.
In May, Manilow had intended to cancel his Las Vegas residency but expressed optimism about his cancer treatment. He noted improvements in his health and maintained confidence about upcoming UK shows.
Fans look forward to seeing Manilow return to the stage. He remains committed to performing and plans to resume shows in the UK by June.
