A city official in Washington, D.C. lost his life in an electric scooter accident on Friday evening. The incident was confirmed by both the office of D.C. Mayor Muriel E. Bowser and the local police department.
The individual has been identified as Talib Shakir, aged 50. He was the director of the mayor’s office of returning citizen affairs. This office plays a crucial role in assisting formerly incarcerated individuals by coordinating various services for them.
Shakir’s mother expressed that he was determined to make significant contributions in his lifetime and aimed to serve the community.
