Cleveland Browns Aim for Rebuild with New Leadership
The Cleveland Browns have appointed Todd Monken as head coach, following Kevin Stefanski’s departure. With Deshaun Watson, Shedeur Sanders, and Dillon Gabriel competing for the quarterback position, Cleveland seeks to revamp its culture and solidify its foundation in a challenging division.
Last Year
The Browns experienced a difficult 2025 season, finishing last in the AFC North with a 5–12 record. The team managed to win a few games through tight, low-scoring encounters, but these were rare. Inconsistencies plagued their offense as three different quarterbacks played throughout the season. Their average of 16.4 points per game was the lowest in the league. Passing issues, poor offensive line performance, and lack of rhythm stalled their offensive efforts. This led to the end of Stefanski’s six-year tenure in Cleveland, initiating significant roster changes.

Offseason Changes
Cleveland made a significant move by trading Myles Garrett to the Rams. In return, they received pass rusher Jared Verse and valuable draft picks. This trade provided the Browns with draft capital and a promising player to help replace Garrett.
Under Monken’s leadership, Cleveland focused on transforming their roster through free agency and the draft. They strengthened the offensive line by signing Zion Johnson and Elgton Jenkins. Additions like linebacker Quincy Williams, defensive tackle Kalia Davis, wide receiver Isaiah Bond, and running backs Quinshon Judkins and Dylan Sampson bolstered the team. Veteran signings included pass rusher A.J. Epenesa and receiver Tylan Wallace.
Current Roster Status
On offense, the Browns revamped their line to support a backfield led by Judkins, complemented by veteran Jerry Jeudy and other new recruits. However, the quarterback position remains uncertain. Watson is competing with Sanders and Gabriel for a starting role.
Defensively, replacing Garrett is a challenge. Verse and Alex Wright are set to take key roles, alongside Denzel Ward in the secondary. Despite the changes, the front seven lacks standout performers, relying on strategy and discipline.

Betting Outlook
The Browns have some potential, yet observers are skeptical about their overall talent and the tough competition they face. With the Steelers, Ravens, and Bengals in their division, the path ahead is demanding. Many speculate a limited number of wins, predicting fewer than 5.5 wins for the season. Concerns about Watson’s performance, along with doubts about Sanders and Gabriel, contribute to a cautious outlook for the team.
