Country singer Brian Duckworth, affectionately known as “Nashville,” has passed away at the age of 56. His family reported that Duckworth died at his home on September 7.
Duckworth was not only a musician with his family band, Taylor Made, but also a dedicated truck driver. His work with Wolfe’s Excavating earned him the nickname “Truck Boss”. His family shared that he cherished his trucking job as it allowed him to enjoy the outdoors.
Music held a significant place in Duckworth’s life. He loved performing with Taylor Made and was known for seizing every chance to share his musical talent.
“Music was also a special part of his life. He loved to sing and proudly performed with his family band, Taylor Made. Brian never passed up an opportunity to share his voice, earning him the affectionate nickname ‘Nashville.'”
Duckworth, along with his siblings Greg and Wendy Williams, initially formed a band called I-79 in 2008. They first performed under this name at the Colgate Country Showdown before rebranding themselves as Taylor Made. The band gained recognition with their hit song “Things You Don’t Grow Out Of,” which climbed to number 36 on the Billboard Indicator chart.
Duckworth is survived by his wife of 16 years, Tina, their six children, Zach, Ashton, Logan, Kayla, Michael, and Matt, four grandchildren, and his five siblings.
“Above all, Brian treasured his family and the special memories they created together,” an obituary noted. “He also dearly loved his faithful fur family, who were constant companions and brought him great comfort and happiness. Brian’s love of family, music, and the outdoors will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.”
His niece, Brianna Duckworth Kazner, expressed her grief on social media, sharing a video from her wedding, noting it was the last time Taylor Made performed together.
“I grew up watching my dad, Aunt Wendy, and Uncle Brian perform at fairs and festivals until I was finally old enough to join them on a few occasions,” Kazner shared. “As I’ve gotten older and started writing my own music, I knew the guy to call whenever I got creatively ‘stuck’. He truly had such a way with song lyrics.”
Duckworth will be laid to rest at Floral Hills Memorial Garden. The obituary did not state a cause of death.
