Dak Prescott’s Personal and Professional Life: A Balance of Privacy and Public Attention

Dak Prescott values his privacy, yet as the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, he is a public figure. Earlier this year, his private life became a topic of public discussion when his marriage engagement was canceled, making headlines. Prescott addressed the matter recently, acknowledging the situation but choosing not to disclose specific details regarding the breakup with Sarah Jane Ramos.

He noted that the private nature of the event clashing with public attention was regrettable. Prescott urged people to be cautious about believing the narratives surrounding the event, saying, “there were a lot of false narratives out there on both of our sides.” He expressed that living in the public eye sometimes leads to such unfortunate circumstances.

The engagement between Prescott and Ramos started in October 2024, and the couple had two daughters. They planned to marry in April 2026 in Lake Como, Italy. However, they called off the engagement in March 2026. A representative stated the decision to split was mutual and that they remained dedicated to co-parenting their children, despite the emotional toll.

Reports varied regarding the reasons for the breakup. Some suggested the relationship had been troubled for months, culminating in a significant argument during a trip to the Bahamas. Nonetheless, Prescott remains publicly focused on his children as well as his career.

Prescott’s daughter, Margaret Jane Rose Prescott, was born in February 2024, and her birth profoundly impacted his life, shifting his focus towards his family. Aurora Rayne Prescott followed in May 2025, with her middle name being Rayne, after Prescott’s first name. Both daughters regularly spend time with Prescott, even visiting him during the Cowboys’ training camp.

Discussing his children, Prescott appreciates their presence at his workplace, “They’ll have these memories and stuff like that,” he said. He emphasized that his motivation to win extends beyond personal achievement and includes setting an example for his daughters. “That’s who I want to win for,” he stressed, wanting his daughters to view him as a champion.
