Emmanuel Acho, a former FS1 host and now a podcaster, criticized Carrington’s remarks on a recent episode of his show “Speakeasy.” Acho argued, “To label it as a white privilege-based foul undermines the term and disregards basketball rules.” He noted that Carrington struck Cunningham in the head, drew blood, and failed to contact the ball. Acho described Carrington’s comments as ignorant.

After Acho’s response gained attention, Carrington defended herself on X. She clarified, “I’ve never claimed the foul assessment was due to white privilege. That was your assumption.” She urged critics to exercise critical thinking, referencing her education in psychology.

She further explained her understanding of the term “white privilege,” emphasizing her academic background and stating she would not misuse such a term without evidence.

The debate continues over whether Carrington implied Cunningham received racial favoritism. In the comments of her tweet, many users remain skeptical.
