Dominique Malonga Makes History with First WNBA All-Star Game Dunk

Dominique Malonga’s inaugural WNBA All-Star Game dunk was inevitable, and the moment arrived during Saturday night’s event. Representing the Seattle Storm, she seized the opportunity in the second quarter. The 6-foot-6 center received a pass from Atlanta Dream’s Angel Reese, executing her historic dunk with ease.

Malonga’s dunk marked her as the seventh athlete in WNBA history to achieve this in an All-Star Game. Notably, she is recognized by the WNBA as the youngest to reach this milestone.

Malonga, part of Team Coop, demonstrated her talents during the 2026 AT&T WNBA All-Star Game at Chicago’s United Center. This achievement made her the first since WNBA legend Sylvia Fowles in 2022 to dunk in an All-Star match.

Currently, Malonga is yet to perform a regular-season dunk for the Storm after participating in 63 games, though her dunking prowess is well-known. Her capabilities were exhibited in European leagues and showcased upon her selection as the second overall pick in last year’s draft. She impressed during her first practice session with Seattle, further highlighting her athletic ability.

Detroiter Flau’jae Johnson, another Storm player, humorously remarked that she would engage with Malonga only if she successfully dunked at Saturday’s game. Malonga averages 16.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in her second WNBA season.
