F.B.I. Investigates Leak Over Qatari-Gifted Aircraft

The F.B.I. aims to interview several individuals who traveled on a plane. The Qatari-donated aircraft carried President Trump to Turkey recently. This step is part of an inquiry linked to The New York Times’ reporting.

Sources with insight into the situation noted that the bureau sought contact with U.S. Secret Service members who were with Mr. Trump. A knowledgeable source revealed this, asking to stay unnamed due to the investigation’s sensitivity.

The Secret Service directed its personnel to funnel any external demands to their legal representatives, according to two informed individuals.

Susie Wiles, serving as the White House chief of staff, appears to be leading the investigation alongside Kash Patel, the F.B.I. director, probing into the leak surrounding the new Air Force One.

The Secret Service gave no remarks when approached. The F.B.I. also withheld comments.

This inquiry follows administrative subpoenas directed at various Times reporters last Friday. The intention was to ensure their testimonies before a grand jury in Manhattan this week. The New York Times criticized it as a tactic to coerce their journalists.
