Horrific Domestic Incident in Florida
Ruben Altidore, a 36-year-old Florida man, stands accused of attacking his sister with a machete while she slept beside her young daughter. This occurred in Margate, roughly 40 miles from Miami. The arrest report depicted a violent scene, with Altidore allegedly shouting, “Oh my God, why aren’t you dead yet?” during the assault.
Authorities charged Altidore with attempted felony murder, aggravated child abuse, and probation violation. Despite her severe injuries, his sister survived.

The victim suffered a 10-inch wound reaching the bone of her right thigh, a severe laceration on her right hand with possible amputation of multiple fingers, and near amputation of her left index finger and thumb. Despite the terrifying ordeal, the victim managed to escape and sought help from a neighbor. Her distress was captured on a home surveillance system. Thankfully, her 1-year-old daughter was unharmed.

Neighbors recounted the terrifying event, with one stating how the victim rushed to his front door seeking help. Investigators found significant blood traces throughout the home, leading to and from the victim’s bedroom. A machete and its sheath were discovered by authorities.
