Flight Schedule Changes for Fourth of July Celebrations

Reagan National Airport will experience major flight disruptions on July 4. The airport will pause operations for most of the day to allow for flyovers and fireworks in celebration of the United States’ 250th Independence Day. Authorities have confirmed that no departures will take place after 12 p.m.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) revealed this information on Tuesday. In addition to the changes on July 4, flights will also be halted for several hours during the early afternoon of July 3.

Travelers are advised to check their schedules and plan accordingly, especially if attending other anniversary events throughout the summer.
