Folarin Balogun Eligible for World Cup Round of 16 Match Against Belgium

FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee declared on Sunday the suspension of Balogun’s red card ban. He had received a red card during the 2-0 victory against Bosnia-Herzegovina, following an incident involving an ankle stomp on Tarik Muharemović.

FIFA announced the decision by stating that the implementation of Balogun’s match suspension is on hold for a probationary period of one year. Should Balogun commit a similar offense during this time, the suspension will be reinstated, along with any new penalties for subsequent infringements.
