A former Disney Channel actress, Raquel Lee Bolleau, has filed a lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company. She claims she was sexually abused by an adult male employee while working on the 2001 Disney Channel movie “The Poof Point.” Bolleau alleges Disney personnel encouraged her to form a relationship with this employee when she was only 14 years old.
The complaint, accessed by Fox News Digital, states that Bolleau was given alcohol and repeatedly sexually assaulted during the production. She recalls the assailant dismissing her age by saying, “You’re old enough. You can handle it.” Despite returning to the set showing signs of intoxication, Disney staff allegedly did not investigate or provide necessary care.
The lawsuit also accuses Disney of failing to maintain required adult supervision. Bolleau’s guardian was allegedly told that their presence was not needed on set, leaving the young actress vulnerable. She claims this lack of oversight allowed the employee to harass and assault her openly.
Bolleau further alleges that the abuse continued during her return flight to California. She claims Disney arranged for her to fly first class while her guardian was seated separately. During the flight, the employee allegedly assaulted her in their shared seating arrangement.
Bolleau’s legal team argues that Disney not only failed to protect their young employee, but also attempted to cover up the abuse. The company is accused of blaming Bolleau for her deteriorating behavior and dismissing evident signs of distress.
Raquel Lee Bolleau began acting as a child. Her career included roles in “Malcolm & Eddie” and “The Amanda Show.” After joining Disney, she became known for her work on “The Poof Point” and voiced a character in “The Proud Family.”
She seeks both compensatory and punitive damages, citing negligence and failure to supervise her alleged abuser. Her lawyers emphasize that negligent conduct in the entertainment industry should not go unchecked. Disney has not responded to requests for comments regarding the lawsuit.
