Four police officers in Wisconsin were injured early Saturday morning when a suspect drove a vehicle into a crowd. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. local time.
Police officers from the Green Bay Police Department were responding to a disturbance at a food truck. As they were taking individuals into custody, a vehicle approached both the officers and bystanders. One officer discharged their weapon in response.
The suspect fled the scene, initiating a brief police pursuit. The chase concluded with a PIT maneuver, a technique used by law enforcement to stop fleeing vehicles. The individual was subsequently apprehended without further incident, suspected of driving under the influence.
All four injured officers received medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. There have been no reported injuries from gunfire.
Police Chief Chris Davis addressed the situation during a press conference. He stated that the connection between the driver and the disturbance at the food truck remains unclear. He noted that some officer injuries occurred before the vehicle incident during the suspects’ initial arrest attempts.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office will collaborate on the investigation regarding the officer-involved shooting.
