Fox News Highlights America’s 250th Anniversary Celebrations

Fox News anchor Shannon Bream detailed the extensive celebrations for America’s 250th birthday nationwide. Key events included a record-breaking fireworks display in Washington, D.C., speeches by President Donald Trump at iconic landmarks, gatherings of military veterans featuring a 103-year-old WWII veteran, and an international naval review in New York Harbor. The segment highlighted patriotic unity and displays.

Guinness World Records confirmed the fireworks display’s record shortly after President Trump announced that Washington, D.C. would host the “LARGEST FIREWORKS SHOW IN HISTORY.” According to their website, the event, organized by Freedom 250 and Pyrotecnico, Inc, featured 840,537 fireworks and took place on July 4th, 2026.

Despite weather-related delays that temporarily evacuated attendees from the National Mall, hundreds of thousands watched the fireworks that began just before midnight. President Trump estimated that about 150,000 people remained from an initial crowd of 350,000. The display lasted approximately 40 minutes.

Interior Secretary Doug Burgum had explained in advance that, due to the event’s scale, fireworks would launch from multiple locations, including barges, around the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. This scale was a first for national celebration fireworks.

The White House initiated Freedom 250, a public-private partnership, with President Trump as chair. This broke the previous record held by a megachurch’s 2016 New Year’s fireworks show, which included 810,904 fireworks.

Freedom 250 spokesperson Danielle Alvarez celebrated the achievement, noting, “On July 4th, America celebrated our nation’s 250th birthday with the largest fireworks display in history. This historic event symbolized unity, resilience, and pride as we commence our nation’s next 250 years.” She thanked all contributors to the success.

A White House statement lauded President Trump’s role in the event, noting his efforts led to a remarkable celebration, including an aerial show, record-breaking fireworks, and a motivational speech to hundreds of thousands.
