Frankie Valli has decided to cancel the rest of his Four Seasons farewell tour due to health concerns. The 92-year-old singer expressed his regrets on social media, explaining his decision to prioritize his well-being. “I’m so sorry to disappoint the folks who have purchased tickets to my shows, but I have decided to take the rest of the year off from touring to focus on my health,” Valli shared. He added he looks forward to returning to his fans soon and thanked everyone for their good wishes.
Valli, known as the frontman and the only original member of the Four Seasons still performing, began the farewell tour, “The Last Encores,” in October 2023.
Support flooded in from fans across social media. One follower commented on Instagram, “I am so glad that you are taking time to take care of yourself, wishing you and your wife some relaxation and quiet time. Looking forward to seeing you next time.” Another fan reassured, “No need to apologize. You’ve given us some of the greatest songs ever written. Take care of yourself.”
In 2024, concerns arose when videos appeared online showing Valli struggling to remember the lyrics during performances. The singer addressed these concerns in a message shared via People magazine, saying, “I know there has been a lot of stuff on the internet about me lately so I wanted to clear the air. I am blessed to be 90 years old and still doing what I love. As long as I am able, and audiences want to see me, I will be out there performing.”
He described how The Four Seasons’ sound relies on layering vocals and instruments, using their extensive experience to replicate the records. “I sing, I have singers who sing, great arrangements,” Valli elaborated, dismissing rumors of being forced to perform.
Valli plans to keep performing as long as possible, delivering the distinctive sound fans love. “Like that line in ‘Jersey Boys,’ I’m like that bunny on TV, that just keeps going and going and going. Chasing the music,” he added.
