House Republicans Join Democrats to Limit Military Action in Iran

On Thursday, a group of four House Republicans opposed President Donald Trump and the majority of their party by voting with Democrats on a resolution. This resolution aims to halt U.S. military actions in Iran unless Congress gives explicit authorization.

Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick from Pennsylvania, Warren Davidson from Ohio, Tom Barrett from Michigan, and Thomas Massie from Kentucky sided with Democrats on this issue. The measure succeeded with a 214-208 vote. These same Republicans had previously opposed Trump’s Iran war powers in June.
