Indi Hartwell’s journey in professional wrestling reached new heights as she secured the Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) Knockouts World Championship at the Bound for Glory event. Her victory against Xia Brookside marks her first reign as Knockouts Champion.
Previously, Hartwell had to relinquish her WWE NXT Championship when she transitioned to WWE’s Raw brand. Her return to championship status in TNA highlights her resilience and determination in the women’s division.
The path to her victory was not without challenges. Hartwell was close to winning TNA gold earlier but was eliminated in the Knockouts TV Championship Tournament semifinals. Undeterred, she claimed a tag team title alongside Harley Hudson and secured a disqualification win over Zoey Serrano, further establishing her in the championship scene.
The turning point came after a backstage incident with Daria Rae, which led to Hartwell earning a title match against Brookside. Both wrestlers emphasized the importance of integrity and fair play in their pre-match promotions.
Despite Brookside, who previously won the title against Lei Ying Lee, doing everything to maintain her reign, her frustration surfaced during the match. She slapped special guest referee Mickie James, prompting retaliation. Hartwell seized this opportunity to deliver her finishing move, the Hurts Donut, clinching the victory.
Brookside’s title reign concluded after 105 days. Hartwell’s triumph makes her the fourth Knockout to hold the title in this year, following Arianna Grace, Brookside, and Lee.
Indi Hartwell’s success in TNA showcases her persistence and capability as a formidable competitor in the wrestling world.
