Jalen Hurts: A Journey with the Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts, the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles, joined the team after being drafted in 2020. His college football career includes impressive stints at the University of Alabama and the University of Oklahoma. Born on August 7, 1998, in Houston, Texas, Hurts grew up in a sports-centric environment. His father, who coached him at Channelview High School, instilled a strong athletic foundation.

Jalen’s family is deeply rooted in football, as demonstrated by his brother, Averson Jr., who also played college football at Texas Southern. When the Eagles drafted Jalen in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, he quickly became an integral part of the team.

During the 2022-23 season, Hurts made his first Super Bowl appearance. The Eagles faced the Kansas City Chiefs, narrowly missing out on the championship title with a 38-35 defeat. The rivalry continued in the 2024-25 season when the Eagles and Chiefs met again in Super Bowl LIX, reintroducing a familiar challenge for Hurts and his team.
