Former President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, unexpectedly joined Barstool Sports personality ‘Jersey Jerry’ in a recorded video. They awarded him the ‘Lib of the Year’ title for the third consecutive year during the ‘Pardon My Take’ Takie Awards episode. Jerry, visibly surprised, reacted with disbelief, saying, “What the f—? I was not expecting that.”
Hunter Biden initially appeared in the video, mentioning shared experiences with recovery before congratulating Jerry on his third consecutive win. He remarked, “Hey, Jerry, from one brother in recovery to another, congratulations on the Lib of the Year award. I know you didn’t have much competition, but I’m still proud of you.” Joe Biden then joined his son on screen, adding, “We were both proud of you. Hey, Jerry, congratulations. Keep the faith, Jerry. Congratulations, dude.”
Jersey Jerry struggled to comprehend the former president’s involvement in the awards, captured by the show’s hosts who replayed the video upon Jerry’s request. Jerry humorously addressed the president using a nickname often used by Donald Trump: “All right, Sleepy Joe. Thank you, brother.”
The presentation caught the attention of Barstool founder Dave Portnoy, who expressed his reaction as “I gasped.” The notable appearance of the former president made history, as ‘Pardon My Take’ co-host Dan ‘Big Cat’ Katz highlighted, “Forty-five men have served in 47 presidencies. You have one of 45 men who served as president of the United States of America giving you a Takey for Lib of the Year. Just let that set in for a second. That’s history.”
The surprise cameo from the Bidens spurred further reactions online. Besides Portnoy, Barstool media personality Jack Mac stated, “I gasped when the second special guest popped on screen.” Former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz also appreciated the unexpected end of the segment, stating, “This is great. Did not expect the end of the video.”
The Takies included a range of awards across a two-hour, 48-minute episode, featuring titles like ‘Take of the Year’ and ‘Blake of the Year.’ The segment marked a follow-up to the 2025 presentation when former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg awarded Jerry his second consecutive title, applauding his evolving views on immigration and vaccination.
