Journey Drummer Deen Castronovo Hospitalized During Concert

Journey drummer Deen Castronovo experienced a medical emergency during a concert in Tulsa, Oklahoma, resulting in his hospitalization. The band halted the performance after two songs, requesting fans to support Castronovo through prayers.
Video footage shared online showed Castronovo, 62, being taken to the hospital after he left the stage. Keyboardist Jonathan Cain addressed fans, apologizing for the delay and asking for prayers.
We’re going to see what happens as this progresses,Cain explained.It’s an unfortunate situation. Please have your prayers ready for Deen Castronovo, everybody. Thank you.
Guitarist Neal Schon announced the concert would resume with longtime drum technician Steve Toomey taking over the drums. Schon assured the audience, stating, Please give a big hand for Steve Toomey. We’ll be back in about 15 minutes. We love you all, and we’re sorry about the inconvenience.
The incident occurred during Journey’s farewell tour, scheduled to run through November. Lead singer Arnel Pineda offered reassurance, suggesting Castronovo’s condition might not be severe. He remarked, He’s gonna be fine. Too much Gatorade.
Schon dedicated the performance to Castronovo, expressing hope for his recovery. He requested audience prayers, emphasizing the band’s support for their drummer. This concert’s for Deen tonight. I’d love you all to pray for him,
he said.
No official details have been released about Castronovo’s medical condition. The incident occurred during Journey’s ongoing Final Frontier Tour, featuring band members Schon, Cain, Pineda, Castronovo, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, and bassist Todd Jensen. This North American leg began in February and will conclude in San Francisco on November 28.
Schon described the tour as a tribute to Journey’s music and fan base, stating, The music we’ve created together is amazing. And so, you have to celebrate that music with the fans. The fans are incredible,
he told Rolling Stone.
