The New York Mets faced another setback when star player Juan Soto exited the game due to an injury. This incident occurred during their home game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, who recently visited the White House.
Actress Emma Stone, present at the ballpark for a movie shoot, took a moment to speak with Soto before he left. Though Soto had two walks during the game, he was taken out in the sixth inning due to calf soreness. This injury has been a concern since it first appeared on July 16, prompting earlier rest for Soto.
Mets’ interim manager Andy Green noted before the game that Soto’s condition seemed to be improving, hoping it wouldn’t be a continued issue. However, Soto’s removal from the game suggests it remains a problem, causing concern among fans on social media.
Soto, the Mets’ sole All-Star this season, underscores the significance of his absence from the lineup. In 84 games this year, Soto has maintained a .283 batting average with 83 hits and 21 home runs. He is currently in the second year of a substantial 15-year, $765 million contract with the Mets.
