Two young brothers from Minnesota have gained recognition for their patriotic efforts. Noah Dingels, 11, and Cole Dingels, 8, have raised significant funds for Tee It Up for the Troops, a nonprofit organization aimed at supporting American veterans.
The boys from Eden Prairie started their lemonade stand five years ago during a community golf tournament. This tournament is hosted by Tee It Up for the Troops, a national nonprofit with a mission that spans several support areas for veterans. These include assistance with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, suicide awareness, employment, recreation, and family support.
“I really liked it, it’s cool to see the veterans and present the money at the end of the night,” Noah commented on their initial fundraising efforts. After raising $359 in their first year, they have since accumulated $60,000 for the organization.
The lemonade stand, which also sells candy bars and golf balls, has become a community fixture. Local sponsors and community members have joined in to support the boys’ efforts. Their mother, Angela, regards this initiative as a chance for the boys to show their gratitude and patriotism toward veterans.
Among the veterans they have connected with is Harry Wisdom, a former U.S. Army helicopter pilot and Silver Star recipient during the Vietnam War. Wisdom provided the boys with his Silver Star last year as a token of appreciation for their support.
Tee It Up for the Troops, established in 2005 and based in Burnsville, Minnesota, has raised over $19 million to directly support veterans and their families. The organization hosts golf tournaments nationwide, including an annual event in Florida called REUNION, where veterans reunite with battle buddies and family members.
The group’s executive director, Chris LaRocque, an Army reserve officer, praised Noah and Cole for their contributions.
“We receive donations made out to Noah and Cole’s lemonade stand or Tee It Up for the Troops. What a cool thing that these young entrepreneurs, young men that are growing, want to do something bigger than themselves.”
Tee It Up for the Troops continues to focus on veteran support, celebrating American achievements and sacrifices. LaRocque highlighted that the efforts of the younger generation, exemplified by Noah and Cole, are inspiring. They aim to address community needs and help veterans, proving that individual efforts can grow into something impactful.
