NATO Jet Intercepts Drone Over Romania

A NATO F-18 fighter jet shot down a drone that breached Romanian airspace. This marks the fourth unmanned aerial vehicle intercepted in Romania this year, according to the country’s defense ministry.

NATO spokesman U.S. Army Colonel Martin O’Donnell stated the alliance remains vigilant against threats. The drone, suspected to be of Russian origin, is under investigation.

Romania, sharing a 381-mile border with Ukraine, has faced repeated airspace incursions by Russian drones. The drone was detected entering from Moldova, near Galati. The Spanish contingent’s F-18 engaged and neutralized the drone safely.

The incident’s debris landed in a remote area, avoiding damage or injuries.

Ukrainian Drones Strike Moscow Region

Ukrainian drones targeted the Moscow region overnight, leading to significant damage. Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov described it as a major attack, resulting in one death and several injuries in Podolsk. A Wildberries warehouse, along with other sites, was hit.

Footage revealed a large smoke plume at Wildberries’ Koledino warehouse, south of Moscow. Ukraine aims to disrupt Russian economic support of military operations by targeting sites like Wildberries.

Russian Attacks on Kyiv Continue

Russian forces launched missile and drone attacks on Kyiv, causing fires in two districts. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported the incidents on the Telegram platform, with debris causing a fire in the northern suburb.

Emergency services responded to burning vehicles and another fire in the city. Reported explosions aggravated the situation, with three people, including a child, injured in Kyiv.

These attacks form part of Russia’s intensified assault on Ukrainian cities in recent weeks.
