Netflix is making significant moves in the sports broadcasting space. The streaming service has recruited former ESPN anchor Elle Duncan to be their first full-time on-air sports anchor. She will lead live sports and special events. More recently, Netflix signed Ryan Clark’s The Pivot Podcast to a multi-year agreement. Critics are questioning if this approach will alienate core subscribers by focusing on personal narratives over traditional sports coverage.
Travelers understand the stress of monitoring their passports for safety and return trips. WNBA star Li Yueru of the Dallas Wings couldn’t avoid this mishap during the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Berlin. Her passport was lost in the mail, barring her from participating in the event. She shared on Instagram that despite searching for solutions, her passport remains missing. “Unfortunately, my passport was lost in the mail and still hasn’t been found,” she wrote.
Li Yueru expressed disappointment but handled the situation gracefully. She was the leading scorer for the Chinese national team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. WNBA fans will next see her in action when the Dallas Wings face the Los Angeles Sparks on September 17. Her absence from the World Cup benefits other teams, but as she noted, “disappointment is simply part of life.”
