New Orleans Saints Face Setback with Rookie Suspension

The New Orleans Saints dedicated the offseason to enhancing their wide receiver lineup. They selected Jordyan Tyson with the eighth overall pick in April’s draft. Additionally, Bryce Lance was chosen in the fourth round, and Barion Brown in the sixth round. The team also signed undrafted free agent Brock Rechsteiner, son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner.

However, the Saints have encountered a challenge during training camp. The NFL announced on Thursday that Rechsteiner has been suspended for the first six games of the 2026 season, as stated in the league’s transaction wire. The specific reason for his suspension remains unknown.

Rechsteiner, at 23, had a commendable stint at Jacksonville State. Over 23 games, he caught 53 passes, accumulated 629 yards, and scored seven touchdowns. Despite the suspension, he is permitted to practice with the Saints and participate in the preseason. His suspension will commence once the Saints trim their roster to 53 players on August 30.

Rechsteiner’s family has a history with the NFL. His cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner, known as Bron Breakker in WWE, signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2020 as an undrafted fullback but was released after a few months.

Brock Rechsteiner has expressed intentions to follow a career in professional wrestling, drawing inspiration from his cousin, father, and uncle, Rick Steiner. The Steiner Brothers achieved WWE Hall of Fame status in 2022.
