New York Giants Secure Quarterback Duo for Upcoming Seasons

The New York Giants have committed to working with quarterbacks Jaxson Dart and Jameis Winston for the next three seasons.

Jaxson Dart, the starting quarterback, is secured for at least the next four years after signing a rookie contract following his selection as the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, backup quarterback Jameis Winston agreed to a two-year extension with the team on Sunday, as reported by Jordan Schultz.

Winston serves as the primary backup for Dart and is expected to start in case of injuries. Last season, he started two games and delivered a performance with 37 completions out of 66 passes, totaling 567 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions in 2025.

At 32, Winston has enjoyed a lucrative career, beginning with a $25.3 million contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being the first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft. Later contracts included earnings of $38.6 million, $4 million, and $8 million with the New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, and Giants. Winston’s new deal with the Giants is valued at $13 million.

The Giants have taken steps to ensure both quarterbacks remain on their active roster for the foreseeable future, demonstrating a clear commitment to their team’s stability.
