Nicole Scherzinger, known for her role in the Pussycat Dolls, recently gave her fans a glimpse into the reality behind her glamorous performances. The 48-year-old singer posted an Instagram carousel showcasing a polished backstage selfie. She posed with long, dark hair styled in waves, wearing glamorous makeup and showing off her toned abs in a black sports bra and gray sweatpants.
However, the following image told another story. Scherzinger revealed her injured leg, displaying extensive red marks and healing burns around her knee and down her leg. This injury dates back to a performance in Düsseldorf, Germany, on September 26, where scorching water spilt on her leg an hour before she was to perform. Despite burns and blisters, Scherzinger proceeded with the show, stating, “Nothing like boiling water falling on your leg an hour before your set. But the show must go on.”
Her recent photos highlight the contrast between the polished image audiences see and the physical challenges she manages behind the scenes. Fans have praised Scherzinger’s dedication, with comments like “Incredible” and “You are truly the meaning of warrior Nicole Scherzinger.” Singer Gloria Gaynor also supported Scherzinger, emphasizing her warrior spirit.
Scherzinger has continued to perform with the Pussycat Dolls on their “PCD Forever” tour, including a performance at Dublin’s 3Arena on October 5. She shares the stage with Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt. After the accident, Scherzinger returned to perform in Dublin, as the group continues its European and U.K. tour. The tour continued in Glasgow on October 7 and was scheduled for other cities, including a stop at London’s O2 Arena on October 13.
The Pussycat Dolls’ reunion has not been without challenges. Only three members of the known lineup participate in the “PCD Forever” tour. Jessica Sutta, Carmit Bachar, and Melody Thornton are not part of this tour. Sutta expressed no interest in returning to the group, despite initially being heartbroken about the reunion exclusion. She praised Scherzinger, Roberts, and Wyatt for their performances, though she suggested that the group is better as a five-member ensemble.
Currently focused on her solo career, Sutta will release her new single, “Don’t Take Much,” on October 7.
