North Carolina Man with Multiple Arrests Faces New Assault Charges
A North Carolina man has been charged following an attack on a woman in Charlotte. Di-Quan Schafar Hunt, 32, allegedly assaulted a woman on a sidewalk and posted video of the incident on social media.
Details of the Incident
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reported that Hunt was arrested after officers reviewed a social media account linked to the assault. The incident occurred on July 30 in the 400 block of East Boulevard in the Providence Division. Police said Hunt punched a woman before fleeing the scene.
Following his arrest, Hunt was taken to a medical facility for treatment. Once released, he will be transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office, facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
History of Arrests
Records from the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office show Hunt has been arrested at least nine times since 2023. The records indicate previous charges, including a December 2025 arrest for assault with a deadly weapon, communicating threats, and carrying concealed weapons, among others.
Additional past charges include simple assault in September 2025 and assault on a female in March 2025. In 2024, Hunt faced charges involving violations of a domestic-violence protective order and injury to personal property. He has multiple misdemeanor convictions in the county.
