Panthers Edge Cardinals in Thrilling Hall of Fame Game

Rookie quarterback Haynes King led the Carolina Panthers to a 33-30 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in the NFL preseason’s Hall of Fame Game. With just a few seconds left, King scored a decisive 5-yard touchdown, closing the night with 180 passing yards and two touchdowns. He also gained 39 yards on the ground.

On the Cardinals’ side, fellow rookie quarterback Carson Beck showed promise before finishing his exhibition debut. Beck, a third-round pick from Miami, recorded 188 passing yards and one touchdown.

In a thrilling game, Kedon Slovis put Arizona ahead late with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Bryson Green, giving the Cardinals a 30-27 lead. However, King rallied the Panthers to secure the win. Neither team fielded their starters, with Bryce Young notably cheering on King from the sidelines.

King’s performance was highlighted by a 4-yard touchdown pass to Anthony Tyus III early in the fourth quarter, putting Carolina in a 24-20 lead. He also connected with Ja’Seem Reed for a touchdown in the second quarter.

As fans enjoyed the preseason excitement, the Pro Football Hall of Fame welcomed new inductees, including quarterback Drew Brees, running back Roger Craig, kicker Adam Vinatieri, wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, and linebacker Luke Kuechly.
