Paula Scanlan recently discussed world No. 1 tennis player Aryna Sabalenka’s vocal support of the World Tennis Association’s decision regarding biological males in women’s sports. Speaking on ‘Fox & Friends’, Scanlan, a proponent of women’s sports and a former teammate of transgender swimmer Lia Thomas, expressed her endorsement of Sabalenka’s position.
Scanlan also responded to Martina Navratilova’s criticism of Caitlin Clark’s neutral stance on the issue. Navratilova labeled Clark’s position a complete ‘bailout’.
Meanwhile, Nick Kyrgios announced his provisional suspension from tennis due to a positive cocaine test. The test occurred during the Mallorca Open in June. Kyrgios admitted his mistake via Instagram, taking full responsibility. He reflected on feeling ‘helpless and alone’ amid injuries and their impact on his career.
In his statement, Kyrgios apologized to his fans, family, and sponsors, especially the young fans who look up to him. His failed test and suspension followed his prior criticism of Jannik Sinner and Iga Swiatek for doping violations in 2024.
The International Tennis Integrity Agency revealed that Kyrgios’ test sample was taken on June 22, with results confirming positive on July 17 after his early exit at Wimbledon.
Kyrgios, known for his outspoken nature, last played significantly in 2025, posting a 1-4 record. Despite this, he participated in an exhibition match against Aryna Sabalenka in December 2025. Mark Harris reported on these events for OutKick.
