President Trump in Excellent Health Following Annual Physical
President Donald Trump is in “excellent health,” according to a memo from his physician released after the president’s recent annual physical. The examination took place at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Navy Capt. Sean P. Barbabella, Trump’s physician, stated in the memo, “President Donald Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function.” The memo highlighted Trump’s demanding schedule, which includes high-level meetings, public engagements, and regular physical activity, as beneficial to his well-being. “Cognitive and physical performance are excellent,” Barbabella added.
It was noted that Trump is fully fit to carry out his duties as Commander-in-Chief and Head of State. The evaluation involved diagnostic studies, lab tests, and consultations with 22 specialty providers.
The report detailed Trump’s physical metrics: at 75 inches tall, he weighs 238 pounds, with a resting heart rate of 73 beats per minute, blood pressure of 105/71 mmHg, and oxygen saturation at 98% on room air.
No major health concerns were identified. There was a mention of scarring on Trump’s right ear from an assassination attempt in 2024. Mild lower-leg swelling, noted previously, showed improvement over the past year.
A neurological examination confirmed “normal mental status,” with Trump scoring 30 out of 30 in cognitive screening. The report also mentioned bruising on his hand, attributed to minor soft tissue irritation caused by frequent handshaking, along with aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.
Laboratory results showed no significant abnormalities. Trump’s lifelong abstinence from tobacco and alcohol was highlighted, and he currently takes three medications: Rosuvastatin and Ezetimibe for cholesterol management, and aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.
