Ralph Lauren’s Milan Fashion Week Show: A Blend of Style and Celebrities
During Milan Fashion Week, Ralph Lauren presented a striking menswear collection. The event took place at the designer’s elegant Milan palazzo and attracted a star-studded audience. Among the attendees were Lewis Hamilton and Colman Domingo, who observed a range of styles from classic pinstripes to festival-ready looks.
The front row also featured well-known figures like Henry Golding from “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Avengers” actor Tom Hiddleston, and U.S. actor Scott Eastwood. Outside the venue, fans endured a hot day to catch a glimpse of arriving celebrities, including Thai actor Nichakoon Khajornborirak and Korean actor Kim Woo-bin, who greeted the crowd.
“I was not going to leave that fan in the car,” Domingo said with a smile after retrieving an essential hand fan amidst the city’s heatwave.
Ralph Lauren’s menswear offerings included refined daytime suits from the luxury Purple line, featuring tuxedo shirts and bow ties paired with patchwork denim coats. Completing these looks were berets, aviator glasses, and pocket watch chains. Domingo described this as reminiscent of the 1920s, blending the old with the new.
The casual Polo collection featured colorful madras plaids, layered knitwear, rugby shirts, and light puffers. These items were suitable for both mountain festivals and beach parties. Knitted pieces adorned with the iconic Polo Bear motif matched runway outfits, adding a playful touch. Mixing urban style with East Hampton chic, Domingo noted the seamless blend of formal and streetwear influences.
The collection included a diverse range of models, showcasing age and race inclusivity. Accessories were versatile, with silk scarves turning into bandanas, and ties transformed into belts and bags. Footwear options varied from leather sandals to velvet slippers and rain-resistant duck boots. For those exploring accessory choices, options ranged from canvas totes to luxury snakeskin bags.
Scott Eastwood admired a snakeskin bag, emphasizing the timeless appeal of the brand. “This is just a classy brand that’s timeless,” Eastwood remarked, acknowledging the long-standing relationship between Ralph Lauren and his father, Clint Eastwood. Henry Golding echoed these sentiments, noting his preference for the Purple label for its refined elegance.
