Rand Paul Questions Fauci and Daszak’s Role in COVID-19 Origin
Sen. Rand Paul Accuses Fauci of Conspiracy
Senator Rand Paul, representing Kentucky, has raised allegations against Dr. Anthony Fauci for allegedly funding gain-of-function research. Paul links this research to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic. He accuses Fauci of manipulating intelligence analysts to modify their findings on the virus’s origins, specifically regarding a lab leak.
Documents Reveal Government Actions
Rand Paul released files showing U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents were set to question Peter Daszak, a British zoologist and disease ecology expert returning from an investigation into COVID-19 origins in 2021. According to these files, the FBI directed agents not to proceed with questioning Daszak. Customs agents flagged Daszak due to his collaboration with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and NIH grants benefiting bat coronavirus research in China.
Role of EcoHealth Alliance
Daszak previously led EcoHealth Alliance, a non-profit engaged in pandemic research, including gain-of-function studies. Concerns arose over his involvement with the Wuhan lab and his financial ties to it. NIH sought explanations from Daszak on these collaborations. However, the FBI intervened to prevent further questioning.
Reading Room Initiative
Senator Paul launched an initiative called The Reading Room, providing public access to records associated with this ongoing investigation. The aim is transparency in understanding the COVID-19 origin and any misdirection surrounding it. This initiative presents not only conclusions but actual documents for scrutiny.
Ongoing Inquiry
The investigation remains open, and updates are anticipated as more information becomes available. Paul insists this is merely the beginning of uncovering a comprehensive story regarding alleged conspiracies linked to the pandemic.
